Recently, Kat’s dedication and passion were recognized at the prestigious International Society of Animal Photographers (ISAP) Awards, where she had the honor of receiving multiple accolades for her work.

About the ISAP Awards

The International Society of Animal Photographers (ISAP) is a prestigious organization dedicated to recognizing excellence in animal photography and proud affiliate of the PPA (Professional Photographers Of America).The annual ISAP awards celebrate the best in animal photography, highlighting the creativity, technical skill, and artistic vision of photographers from around the globe.

The 12 Elements of a Merit Image

The judging criteria for the ISAP Awards are based on the 12 Elements of a Merit Image, as outlined by the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). These elements include impact, technical excellence, creativity, style, composition, presentation, color balance, center of interest, lighting, subject matter, technique, and storytelling. Kat’s Award-Winning Images

In this year's ISAP competition, Kat submitted five images across three different categories. We are thrilled to share that all five images received a merit, a recognition that signifies high-quality work. Here’s a breakdown of her achievements:

  • Top 10 in Puppies and Kittens Category: One of her favorite images, capturing the innocence of a kitten, was recognized in this category. It also received the prestigious Judges Choice Award, highlighting its exceptional appeal and technical brilliance.

  • Top 10 in Equine and Farm Animals Category: An image featuring a cute chicken executing a perfect head tilt received a top 10 spot.

“Who Do You Think You're Tokking to?” received an honorable top 10 spot in the Equine and Farm Animal Category

 
  • Top 10 in Cats Category: Two of her images depicting the unique personalities of cats were selected among the top 10 in this competitive category. A third image did not place, but still ended up receiving a merit.
